Lori L. Malkoff, MD, MPH, Guild Certified Feldenkrais Practitioner
Dr. Lori Malkoff, MD, MPH earned a B.S. degree in Biological Sciences at the University of California Irvine in 1980 with cum laude and Phi Beta Kappa honors. She completed her Medical Degree at UC Irvine in 1985, post-doctoral training in Family Medicine at UCLA in 1986, and earned a Master of Public Health degree at San Diego State University's Graduate School of Public Health in 2002. Dr. Malkoff has been in private practice for 31 years.
Lori Malkoff, MD has taken additional post-doctoral training in the fields of physical medicine, rehabilitation, neuroscience, psychology, and nutrition. She is certified by the American College of Sports Medicine as a Health and Fitness Instructor, and is one of only a few Medical Doctors in the U.S. to be trained and working as a Certified Feldenkrais Teacher and Practitioner. Specializing in acute and chronic pain relief and providing pain treatment for seniors, athletes, and children, Dr. Malkoff has owned and operated the Feldenkrais Center of San Diego in Encinitas, CA since 1996.
Lori Malkoff has pursued a lifetime commitment to health and fitness. As a San Diego youth, she was an age-group swimming champion. While attending undergraduate and medical schools in Irvine, she was a nationally-ranked athlete in swimming, water polo, and surfing. Dr. Malkoff exclusively offers the Feldenkrais Method of physical therapy to relieve acute and chronic pain and disability. She can alleviate the chronic pain of fibromyalgia, arthritis, and headaches. Lori Malkoff, MD designs programs to prevent surgery, provide rehabilitation after surgery, and alleviate the pain not relieved with surgery. Back pain and neck pain, sciatica, and other nerve-related problems can be completely relieved using Feldenkrais. You will regain an exceptional ability to live comfortably with scoliosis, balance problems, sleep disorders, and breathing difficulties. Athletes and other artists experience improved performance as well as a faster, more complete recovery from acute injuries.
PRACTICE POLICIES AND FEES
Visits are by appointment only. Payment is expected at the time of service.
We gladly accept cash, debit cards, and all major credit cards. Lori Malkoff, MD does not participate in the Medicare program, nor is she a preferred provider for any insurance plans. Insured parties file any insurance claims. Visit frequency is typically once or twice weekly, and most people with moderate to severe pain are discharged from regular care within 2-4 weeks. Many of those with only mild to moderate pain enjoy full pain relief from a single session!
Fees: New patients enjoy a 90-minute appointment for $200. Return visits last one hour, and are $125.
Please, cancel in advance any appointment you cannot keep. There is a charge for appointments cancelled without 24 hours advanced notice. The private business phone line is answered seven days a week, 24 hours a day. E-mail is also available. Please leave a brief message, and Dr. Malkoff will return all correspondence by days end.
